Board of Elections strives to be of service to every citizen by being fair, nondiscriminatory, and informed on all election laws and legislative changes that will affect their duties and responsibilities to the public. Oglethorpe County Board of Elections manages voter registration and conducts all elections held in the county.

Intent To Process or Tabulate Early

General /Special Election Runoff December 6, 2022

Pursuant to SEB RULE 183-1-14-0.7-.15, this is to notify the citizens of Oglethorpe County that the Oglethorpe County Board of Elections and Registration will begin to open the outer envelope of accepted absentee ballots in the December 6th, 2022, General/Special Election Runoff remove the contents including the absentee ballot, and scan the absentee ballot using one or more scanners on the following schedule:


December 6, 2022, at 3:00 pm until complete in accordance with this rule, and may continue until all accepted absentee ballots are processed. However, no person shall tally or tabulate, estimate or cause the voting equipment to produce any tally or tabulation, partial or otherwise, of absentee votes cast until the time for the closing of the polls on December 6th, 2022.  The opening and scanning of the ballots will take place at the Oglethorpe County Board of Elections & Registration located at 41 Fairground Road, Lexington, GA.

The Board of Elections Office has mailed out 11,000 new cards due to redistricting. This card is NOT a change of address form.  It is a NEW PRECINCT CARD with your new voting districts.  Only return the form if your address has changed.
