A Poll Worker, one of the many mechanisms necessary for a successful election, is a citizen hired or volunteering to work the polls on Election Day abiding by rules and regulations set forth governing elections.

The Board of Assessors is a three member body of appointed citizens of Oglethorpe County, serving on a part time basis, who meet once a month unless posted otherwise. They are appointed for staggered terms of three years by the Oglethorpe County Board of Commissioners and operate autonomously. A Chairman is elected on an annual basis. The Board of Assessors hires a Chief Appraiser to administer the functions of the Property Appraisal and Assessment Administration.
Public Notice
In accordance with O.C.G.A. 48-5-264.1, please be advised that a representative of the Oglethorpe County Appraisal Staff may be visiting your property to review your parcel information concerning a return filed, appeal filed, new construction, parcel review, and /or conservation use application. The appraisal review will include measuring structures, gathering construction information, and photographing the subject property. The field appraiser from our office will have photo identification and will be driving a marked county vehicle. For more information, please contact us.
