Funding and donations

Oglethorpe County Senior Center relies on funding from multiple sources, which include:

  • Grants from the Federal & State Government

  • Allocated funds from Oglethorpe County

  • The United Way, Churches, and other Non-Profits

  • Donations from Individuals & Organizations

  • Fundraising events.

Financial Donations

We greatly appreciate financial donations to support the on-going mission of the Senior Center. Acceptable forms of financial donations include cash and checks.

In-Kind Donations

Below is a list of items and services that we are always in need of if you are interested in donating in-kind.

  • Craft Supplies: painting, quilting, and sewing.

  • Baking Supplies

  • Gardening Supplies

  • Office Supplies: printer paper, pens, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning wipes, 

  • Senior Exercise Equipment

  • Reusable Shopping Bags

  • Toiletry Supplies: soap, toothbrush-toothpaste, floss, shampoo-conditioner, razors-shaving cream

  • Cleaning Supplies: cleaning supplies: small packets of cleaning wipes, laundry detergent, bleach

  • Heating Supplies: blankets, winter clothing, and space heaters

  • Locally Grown Vegetables & Fruit

  • Non-Perishable Groceries: Examples - Canned Food, Pasta, and Granola.

Senior Center T-Shirt

The Oglethorpe County Senior Citizen Center has a t-shirt for sale for $12.00. These shirts can be purchased at the Senior Center. The profits off the t-shirt go to supporting the mission and services of the Senior Citizen Center.

Senior Center Handmade Crafts for Sale

Participants at the Senior Center have the ability to produce very unique handmade crafts to sell at festivals, fundraisers, as well as per order. Additionally, the Senior Center is able to custom design crafts to meet the customers request. For more information about the crafts, please contact the Senior Center at (706) 743-8848.
