A Poll Worker, one of the many mechanisms necessary for a successful election, is a citizen hired or volunteering to work the polls on Election Day abiding by rules and regulations set forth governing elections.
Oglethorpe County Senior Center offers assistance to senior in regards into enrolling them into welfare programs such as Social Security, Medicare, career training, heat assistance, and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Formerly Food Stamps). Additionally, the Senior Center works with different groups throughout the region to provide education and services towards different needs such as heat assistance, supplemental food, blood pressure checks, flu shots, and so forth.
